Water film production blog 1

I'm currently working on a new film about water and the water cycle, commissioned by a waste water treatment plant here in Washington state. This film is animated with ink and water. After collecting lots of audio interviews and editing together a basic audio track, I'm gathering the last sound effects and really getting going on the visuals.

Last week I went to Seattle's Cal Anderson Park near my studio and took some recordings of various parts of the water fountain. I got all the samples I needed, like water going down a drain, water coming out of a pipe, water splashing against rocks. Very useful fountain.

Here are also some photos of the latest scene I animated – it may not make much sense by itself, but it will in the film – hint – water cycle!
