Western Digital has announced that they are expanding their lineup of HDDs in the PH to include their Purple series of HDDs. The Purple line of HDDs from WD are built specifically for surveillance and the Internet of Things applications, and comes pre-loaded with features tailored to surveillance and security. Things like exclusive firmware upgrades that work with ATA streaming to reduce error pixilation and video interruptions, which is common when off the shelf desktop drives are used for surveillance applications.

In addition, WD’s Purple drives are built for harsh, 24/7, always-on, high-definition surveillance security systems that use up to eight hard drives and up to 32 cameras. WD’s Purple drives come in different storage capacities, from 1TB all the way up to 6TB. MSRP for the 3.5-inch 6 TB drive, model #: (WD60PURX) is Php 14,950.
