The footpath is neither for sleeping nor for driving.  ‘The footpath is not for sleeping; if anybody takes the risk of sleeping on it, he must be prepared to have a death like a dog’ – these were the remarks of Bollywood singer on Salman Khan’s conviction of 5 years’ jail by a Mumbai Sessions Court. Let us remind the singer that it is true that the footpath is not for sleeping but at the same time it is also true that the footpath is not for driving a car and Salman Khan has been convicted for driving his car on the footpath and running over footpath dwellers sleeping on it. So, the singer has no right to pass such remarks. As a responsible citizen of the country, I condemn his attitude towards the poor.
