What excuse did Jason invent as an explanation for his being late?

Answer:

Jason had promised to pick his father up at 4p.m. and a place was decided to meet again. He took the car to garage as ordered by his father but got late. Actually he went to theater for movies and got so engrossed in the activity that he totally forgot that he had not much time.So he invented a concocted story that it took him longer as the car needed some major repairs. He also told his father that he had come as quickly as possible.
