Frederic Chopin was known to grow a sideburn only on the side of his face
that the audience could see.

Polish composer, Frédéric Chopin, grew only one sideburn - on the right
side of his face. Chopin's reason for only growing the right sideburn was
because he only showed the audience his right profile. Born to a
middle-class family in Zelazowa Wola, Poland in 1810, Chopin was considered
a child prodigy, and published his first composition when he was seven. His
father's work as a tutor for aristocratic families in Warsaw exposed young
Chopin to high-society, which would later be a part of his career as a
composer, performer, and piano instructor.
