Hi All
Currently feel like a stranger to the Film Annex world as my University life has took over and I haven't really been paying attention, which is bad of me, but there you go, I'm back, a new film is on the cards, and I can tell you about all the great things I've been up to since I last spoke to you guys.
First of all, I got to speak about the shoots I've been on since this Month has started. At first I found myself lighting for CONROY BAMFORD film "Make Em Laugh" a short documentary on comedians, which was always gonna lead to a very relaxed shoot. His dad paid for the first round of beers whilst we waited and the interview ran incredible smooth....smooth to the point where we started taking selfies......See them here!!! P.S- I was Lighting, but when sound problems started, I had to leap over to help out a bit (didn't really help that much - USELESS)
Then I found myself lighting for a Director from STAFFS UNI (like myself) GEORGE SMITH. Possibly one of the funniest and coolest shoots I've been on, working with a great crew and very intriguing cast. Lighting wasn't really the hardest thing in the world to get hang of, it was an EXT shoot and it was an amazing day for once in STOKE. From what I've seen on set, its gonna be a great movie and heres a lovely little snap from the day to show the crew love. (yes I'm wearing a clowns hat on top of my hat)
After this shoot two days later I found myself doing lighting on Director AMY STYRANS shoot, which had some serious set design in. Her and a team of handy people had transformed an empty shop into a 1950's shop, and it looked incredible, lighting this was a lot more tricky on day one because of the light changes. Throughout the day the Earth did that really annoying thing and moved, and whilst the sun was beaming through the window it caused an ever lasting change of light within the room, making it really hard to control shadows and getting what we needed perfectly. I think in the end we got the best we could, if not I'm prepared for angry phone call!!! But anyway heres a cool pic from that shoot
Now onto MY FILM!!!
My film is a short documentary looking how a dancer see's dance, what it means to her and why she does dance in the first place, what creates the passion. Now today I went back to WOLVERHAMPTON and the location scout was a disaster. I couldn't find a thing. And it's lead me to go back to the drawing board and think of something else. But yeah, this time I'm really struggling, will definitely keep you guys in the loop though. Say hello to the new member of my little family btw....
Later this week I will be working on my lovely friend CAITLIN DONALDSON shoot. As far as my immaturity goes, something tells me I'm gonna get my ass kicked on this one.
Thanks Guys, Stay in Touch!!!!!!!!
