In Marts's school, there was a tradition that every year during the eighth grade graduation, a student earned a scholarship jacket by having the highest grades for eight years. This year's nominee was Marta. But the board announced a ruthless change in the policy regarding the award of the scholarship jacket. The board decided to charge fifteen dollars from the winner of the jacket. In case the student couldn't pay the amount, it would be given to the next one on line. the number two candidate was Joann who's father was a Board. So it was an obvious conspiracy against Marta who was helpless for she come of a poor family.
