What Clash of civilizations? President George W. Bush looked awkward but he still puckered up for the smooch. “W” appeared a lot more at ease and a natural though in strolling hand in hand with Saudi King Abdullah. Was that the foreplay or the morning after? Well, not to come across as a cultural imperialist, I do know that in most countries outside of North America and western Europe, it is part of male to male bonding to hold hands or to greet with a kiss on the lips, kind of like American football players slapping each other on the butt. That culturally is absolutely OK with me. After all, we girls do it all the time in the West and East. Easy enough to understand the King’s cultural perspective. However, they were not in Arabia but Crawford, Texas, and there you’d rather kiss your horse on the ass than pucker up for another man. What was W thinking or was he in his natural state? Come to think of it: did the King get it right for Texas? Did he think that he was kissing a horse’s ass? We don’t have the after picture, you know, the one where he saddles him up!
