You ask me how the world would be a better place and I respond simply:
If I was a man. 
Because I was taught to be pretty first. 
Because it is exhausting to look for balance between too girly and not feminine enough.
Because the first time I was called a 'girl' it was said with a sneer, like it was something graceful. 
Because it is a shameful thing to throw like a girl, hit a girl, run like a girl or just be a girl. 
Because even though it is the lioness that hunts, returning with a bloody muzzle, dragging a bloated carcass behind as the alpha lion stride around with his mane puffing out. 
Even though it is only the female mosquitoes that drink blood.
Even though Black widow spiders eat their partners after supplication. 
Even though we are deadly,
Because even though I should be proud to be called a girl, women in this world will inevitably be given pepper spray ''just in case."

BECAUSE NOT ALL MEN ARE PREDATORS BUT ALL WOMEN ARE PREY.

Because the violence we teach our boys is raising them to be men is the same violence that keeps us up at night worrying about our daughters. 
Because in a world like this,who wouldn't want to be a man.
