"Attack on Titan" ("Shingeki no Kyojin") has become an immensely popular anime in both Japan as well as in the Western Countries like the U.S. The first season ended Sept. 28, 2013 with a second season only confirmed for production with no announced release date. Speculation places Season 2 airing in 2015.
The anime was based off of a manga of the same name created by Hajime Isayama. The manga is still ongoing and is currently on its 61st chapter. It's been a year since the end of the first season and fans are constantly on the lookout for a season 2 premiere date.
Still, the production of the anime is highly dependent on the speed of Isayama's manga releases. 14 volumes of the manga title has already been released.
The second season of the anime is already in production since August, along with the announcement of an OVA series which will be based off the prequel manga called "Attack on Titan: No Regrets." The OVA series will consist of two episodes.
The OVAs are scheduled to be released alongside the 15th and 16th volume of the main manga series on Dec. 9 later this year and on Apr. 9 next year.
The first season of the anime will also be compiled into two animated theatrical films which will feature new voice recordings from the same cast. The first title will be "Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow" and will cover the first 13 episodes of the first season, to be released Nov. 22 later this year.
The second title will be called "Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom" and will cover the remaining episodes, to be released on 2015.
