In 1980 there was a strong eruption of Mount St. Helens, located in the north-western United States. Photographer Robert Landsburg, knowing about the impending activation of the volcano, within a few weeks visiting the area around to capture the phase change it. On the morning of May 18, when the eruption itself, it was a few kilometers from the top and realized on fast approaching cloud of smoke that will not have time to escape. Without any panic Landsburg continued to take pictures, and then packed in a camera bag and covered him with his body, which is under a layer of ashes found after 17 days. With the camera, nothing happened, and made shots helped geologists to make full documentary description of the eruption.
