Ranging from 4.5 years ago, no one knew who was Xiaomi. But now, they are already in the top three largest mobile phone vendor in the world. They managed to overtake the big names in the business handheld devices. Starting from LG, Sony, Lenovo, HTC, and others. In fact, the Chinese mobile phone vendors only focus its sales in Asia.
Not satisfied with that, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun's got ambition that his company will be the largest mobile phone vendor in the world in the next 5-10 years, beat Samsung and Apple.
Currently the number of users Xiaomi there are approximately 60 million people. The expected number ballooned to 200 million people by 2015. This means that Xiaomi has a sales target of 100 million units in 2015.
But if you look at the growth Xiaomi, ranked 5th in July and is now ranked third, Xiaomi should not take 5-10 years to achieve that ambition.
As quoted from AndroidAuthority, Saturday (11/22/2014), Jun as CEO Xiaomi optimistic that the company could do better again. Not only that, Lei Jun even claiming that "Apple China" will surpass Apple and Samsung in the coming years and become the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.
In particular, Lei Jun, who happened to be the richest person in China 23 also said that he believes his company will be the best-performing smartphone maker in 5 to 10 years into the future. Interestingly enough, Lei Jun's apparently hinted that Xiaomi will be launching its products globally only when they are on top.
Does not seem excessive, given the current Xiaomi has approximately 60 million active user base enough, and is expected by the end of 2015, this number will rise to 200 million users. It is indirectly telling us that Xiaomi once again expects to sell more than 100 million devices in the coming years.
If we consider this Xiaomi growth rate (currently in third place in the world's largest smartphone manufacturer), which is scheduled for market expansion, and financial problems experienced by Samsung at the moment, it seems not impossible for the Chinese company to actually can achieve its ambitious goals. In fact, maybe sooner than expected.
