W.I.P. Keeps Doors Open!
Bouncer Chronicles (www.bouncerchronicles.com) can report the A list club called W.I.P. in New York City’s Soho district that played host to the infamous brawl over http://rihannadaily.com/ Rihanna between singers http://www.drakeofficial.com/ Drake and http://www.chrisbrownworld.com Chris Brown last summer is keeping its liquor license.
An appeals court this week overturned a Manhattan judge’s decision to revoke the liquor license at the Soho nightclub. The Appellate Divisions found that Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Geoffrey Wrights termination of a booze permit for the club in November of 2012 “was not supported by substantial evidence.”
The judicial panel ruled that the club could not have anticipated the problems because the fights were “sudden or spur of the moment acts of violence comment by club patrons.”
W.I.P. owner Barry Mullineaux had complained to the appeals court that he’d be out of business and his three hundred employees would be put out of work if the court did not return his liquor license.
However, the legal hits keep coming for W.I.P. At least six civil cases by patrons injured in that Brown/Drake brawl are suing the club.
