A woman handed over her husband to the police for his alleged involvement in human trafficking at Benapole check post in the district on Thursday night, reports news agency UNB.
The arrested is Lavu Sardar, 30, son of Khalil Sardar, a resident of Pachuria village in Lohagara upazila of Narail district.
The complainant wife said Lavu had married her about five years ago hiding the fact of his previous marriage.
After three years of their marriage, one day, Lavu asked her to travel with him to India.
When she went to India with her husband, Lavu sold him to human traffickers.
She also said that Lavu had sold 4/5 more women to the traffickers in the same way.
She fled from India to Bangladesh about two months ago.
She managed to know secretly that Lavu came back to Bangladesh and filed a complaint with Benapole port police station.
Sub-inspector of the police station Rafiqul Islam said on the basis of her complaint, police arrested Lavu.
