WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
Women are an integral part of this nation. They are the mother of mankind. According to the great poet and philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal the existence of this gender fills the world picture with colors otherwise it would have been incomplete. Women are the soul and essence of nature. It is a pity that in some regions of the world women are still in depression and their rights are not delivered as they should be.
Particularly in Asia women face a lot of problems in this regard. In the subcontinent region women are treated as objects and liabilities. Men become their sole owners. A large number of women in the under developed areas are not allowed to pursue their goals. Their dreams and ambitions are crushed by the brutality of man. They do not have the right to succeed, because the men consider it their disgrace. Educational standards also vary for men and women. Most of the families are still unhappy to have a female child, a widely known fact also proven by various surveys of UNHCR.
In the 21st century men and women are required to work shoulder to shoulder in order to survive. The poverty in this subcontinent region is also due to the fact that almost half of the population is dependent on the other half for its needs. Following is a five step strategy for building equality between the two genders.
If the women were allowed to work freely in a friendly and cooperative environment the situation would have been entirely different. At least the women should be educated to that they can contribute in the development of nation by raising their next generation in a much better and educated manner. Now due to the colonialism and urbanization the scenario is changing gradually but it might take decades or even a half century for the women to rise to the level of men. It will be a great change and we should all joins hands to ensure women empowerment.
