Womens Annex

The philanthropic arm of the Film Annex is a strong one. Not because it is already powerful, but because of what it can grow to represent. For those of you unaware of the initiative supported up by Francesco Rulli- and Founder of Film Annex, you can find out more here: http://www.womensannexfoundation.org

Roya Mahboob began her company in one of the most arduous business climates. Not because it was after the recession of 2008 or that she had difficult finding funding, it is because she did so in the face of constant opposition and threats from steadfast conservatives.

Francesco Rulli saw this and decided to offer his support. It should be noted that I have never met him, but I can tell that he is a very hands on gentleman. I know this because when I was having difficulty inviting friends to Film Annex, he emailed me personally. He never mentioned who he was and it was not until I watched the Womens Annex video myself that I figured it out.

The Women Annex Foundation has a relatively narrow focus. This is not a bad thing because it is doing one thing really well instead of a bunch of things in a mediocre fashion. They build schools in under-developed regions of the world. The schools are built with the purpose of training young women to become "web literate".  Unlike other foundations, this one is very forward looking.

Instead of training women for the jobs of today, they are learning transferable skills to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow. The entire process is relatively new, yet it is an exciting initiative to be apart of.  I encourage everyone to check out the aforementioned link and I implore you to continue supporting the initiative. Yes, just by reading this, you already are.

This website supports the foundation. Simply by continuing to contribute, share and expand this site, we are all helping- even if it is on a minimal scale. For those of you that can afford it, I am sure there is a way you can donate. If you cannot afford to, then simply share the link and let other people know about this worthwhile cause.

Thank you for your time.
