World T20 2016 – Can’t wait and dying of anticipation? As the craze of PSL T20 and Asia Cup 2016 fuels the excitement level, cricket fans can’t really wait to welcome, World T20 2016. The spectators and cricket fans across the globe love to see live action of T20 cricket where 10 strong teams compete fiercely to clinch the title. Defending champion of World t20 2014, Srilanka will face tough competition from new favorites like New Zealand, India, and Australia. The auspicious T20 World 2016 will dazzle the stadiums of India, the hosting nation. Having the advantage of home ground, India is considered to be the most favorite team to win the title. There will be top 10 teams participating in the World T20 2016, out of which 8 teams have already qualified to play the tournament, whereas, 2 teams will have to face a qualifying round to make to the top 10 list of T20 World 2016.
India being the host; faces the challenge of managing the security of the participating teams. Since the statements of extremist groups made news for Pakistani team, there are security concerns highlighted by the Government of Pakistan to their Indian counterpart. Till now, there is no confirmation regarding the participation of Pakistan in World T20 2016 on Indian ground.
The format of the World T20 2016 comprises of group stage and knocks out. The T20 World 2016 will feature 16 teams, 8 teams directly qualify whereas the rest of the teams including, Oman, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, UAE, Scotland, Ireland, and Hong Kong will play a Qualifier for the last two teams slot. The event comprises of 35 matches to be played in 7 venues. The venues for T20 World 2016 include Eden Gardens, Wankhede Stadium, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, M. Chinnaswammy Stadium, Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, and Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. The final of the mega event will be held on 3rd April 2016 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Team Pakistan might face fierce competition against arch rivals India on 19th March 2016. But they are undoubtedly the most unpredictable side to turn the game any time. Pakistan has a strong T20 squad and has clear chance to clinch the title. All eyes are on the tournament favorites.
