In our second year of university on the media Film Production Course we are required to get 10 days’ work experience into TV or Film. 

I decided to do some work experience for the company StartinTV.  I had to collect production companies from the internet and add them to a database so we can easily find them and contact them to tell them about the company StartinTV.

 

StartinTV helps employers as well as students looking for work, you get feedback on your CV you can upload a personal statement. This helps employers find you a lot easier. For employers StartinTV helps you to find the best at what you’re looking for if that’s a Runner or Camera Operator, on the site theirs a search by that lets you filter what you looking for so you get the best results.

 

Before accepting to do more work experience for StartinTV I had contacted 15 production companies and been unsuccessful. I think this is down to my nerves on the phone and not knowing exactly what I want to go into. I'm going to continue to look for more companies and contact them and leave my fears behind to let me improve on my skills and confidence.
