After the great success of their Mi3 in India, The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi announced the release of their next device in Mi series ‘Mi4′ in India this December or early January 2015. The Mi4 is going to be released along with the Redmi Note.
“We don’t have a date for Mi 4 yet. I am going to stick with what I said earlier which is still the plan -launch it late December 2014 or early January 2015. I don’t think the Redmi Note would conflict with MI 4 even if we launch them together. We never launch devices at the same time because we like to be focused. I wouldn’t have two devices in the same category available at the same time because it creates customer confusion. Largely we would like to have one device per family available at a time – like the Redmi and MI 3 available at the time,” said Hugo Barra, The vice-president of Xiaomi International.
The Mi4 will sport following features:
- 5.2″ FHD IPS Display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
- Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.46GHz Quad-Core processor.
- 13 MP Primary Camera
- 3 GB RAM
- 8 MP Secondary Camera
- 3080 mAh, Li-Ion battery
- LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Blueooth, GPS, microUSB port
Apart from these it will have Android Kitkat and many other features. The price tag is expected to be from ₹19000-20000
With a few unhappy customers due to the Flipkart exclusivity, we are not sure what Xiaomi will plan for this release.
