Xigbee is high level communication protocol and used to construct personal area network. Xigbee is launched in 2004 but the idea of zigbee style network begin to conceived around 1999.Now a days Xigbee are used as a high level communication protocol with 128 bit encyprition bit and are more safely and reliable as compared to Wifi,WLAN etc.

Through low power , low cost Xigbee are wildely used in the mobile or stationary wirless sensor network. Xigbee is based on IEEE 802.15 standards.Xigbee are wildely used in the application in which different  seconday  sensor  nodes are connected to main primary node i.e (creating a  MESH ).

There are two variants of Xigbee i.e S1 series and S2 series.Both have some difference i.e range,power etc. Xigbee s2 is mesh supported and are used to created a mesh network.

 

Here is the hard ware of Xigbee with AVR microcontroller.AVR is used to recived the data from the Xigbee using USART serial PORT and DATA is finally save or display on  Port for other use
