You are exactly what you eat. Want to look fabulous? Then eat fabulous, and by that I mean, fabulously nutritious meals. It’s very simple, whatever you eat becomes a part of you and it reflects on your skin.

Foods for Healthy Skin

Most nutritionists are of the opinion that a well balanced diet is essential for clear and beautiful skin. However, there are some specific foods that you need to focus more on so you can add that special glow to you complexion. These foods are not just easy on your pocket, but they are also easily available.

1.    Low-Fat Dairy Products

One very vital components of skin care is Vitamin A. What better source is there for it than a traditional tall glass of milk every day? Milk has abundant amounts of Vitamin A and nutritionists recommend that you have your daily dose of dairy. Just make sure you’\re taking low-fat milk and not full cream. In case of a thyroid condition or diabetes, it is twice as much more important to consume Vitamin A rich foods.

2.    Strawberries

Strawberries have large amounts of Vitamin A and a single serving can give you more nutritional value than that of oranges or grapefruit. These delicious berries also have anti-aging effects on your skin, making it feel soft and supple. Strawberries also have Vitamin C which helps warding off free radicals and prevents damage caused by them to the collagen in your skin, helping to keep wrinkles at bay.

Healthy Tip: For a better hydrated and smoother skin, it is recommended to apply a natural berry mask to the face twice a week.

3.    Olive Oil

Olive oil has excellent anti-inflammatory properties which reflect not just on your health but your appearance as well. It fights off free radicals and reduces inflammation.

Health Tip: Massaging olive oil on skin softens it, making it smoother and more radiant.

Health Tip: Want to maximize effects of green tea? Give it a little lemon squeeze and stir it properly before having it. The citrus will make the good ingredients stay in your body for longer.

These fruits are crammed with inflammation-fighting anti-oxidants and help generate healthier skin cells. When in season, eat as many as you can.

Health Tip: Mash the fruit to a pulp and apply it to your face like a facial scrub. This helps remove dead skin cells. Follow this health tip twice a week.
