Yunus lectures at Mysore Univ, inaugurates Shetty’s health city

Nobel laureate professor Muhammad Yunus on Friday delivered centennial lecture, inaugurating the yearlong celebration of centenary celebrations of University of Mysore, Bengaluru.
He also inaugurated the new NH Super Speciality Cancer Hospital in Mysore, built by Narayana Health Systems, as part of NH multi-specialisation hospital popularly known as Mysore Health City, said a press release issued in Dhaka.

Opening the lecture series, Yunus spoke of his vision on ‘redesigning economics to redesign the world’ and an audience of 1500 persons including former ministers, eight former vice chancellors of the university, political leaders, businessmen, bankers, industrialists, NGO leaders, and graduate students listened to him.
There are over 70 Bangladeshi students at Mysore University where more than 1500 students from 60 countries are studying.
Professor Yunus was also invited by Dr. Devi Shetty, the well-known founder of Narayana Health that has built more than 32 hospitals all over India.
Mysore Health City was built, inspired by Professor Yunus' philosophy to provide access to the best health care at lowest cost to people from low and lower middle income group, added the press release.
