Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam. Next in importance to salat. The word zakat occurs several times in the Quran and with the exception of a few verses.it is always mentioned with salat.it is said: And establish regular prayer and give regular charity …” (73:20)

 

 

 

 

Zakat is an act of worship performed by giving away a portion of one’s wealth for the benefit of the poor. The holy prophet p.b.u.h described zakat as wealth taken from the rich and given to the poor and the needy.
