Amy Smart and Wendi McLendon-Covey Interview for THE SINGLE MOMS CLUB
DESCRIPTION
Tyler Perry’s “The Single Moms Club” is different from most of the director’s films. Yes, this one is also a romantic dramedy but the chemistry of the cast gels perfectly and you can feel a sense of improvisational comedy. And Perry’s trademark of heavy handedness is barely on screen and again, this project is elevated by the main cast.
I sat down with two of the “single moms” in the movie, Amy Smart and Wendy McLendon-Covey (“Reno 911,” “Bridesmaids”), to talk about working with Perry, their interest in making the movie, and Smart even talked about being “pounded,” a wink-wink nudge-nudge to the double entendre that was used in the film with the actress and her neighborhood crush played by William Levy.
