Aspen Brewing Co 2008.
DESCRIPTION
We recently returned to Aspen to visit with Duncan Clauss, Rory Douthit and Brad Veltman of the Aspen Brewing Company. These friends were beer lovers and home brewers who shared a dream of launching a brewery of their own; and in September of 2007, with the help of family and friends, they leased a space in downtown Aspen. Months of sweat, tears and fermentation later, in March 2008 they officially opened with a sigh of relief and a deep breath, as Aspen proceeded to embrace them with gusto! Even with all the increased demand, we have no doubts that they will handle it all with the same dedication to quality that they began with just a few short months ago. We loved their Porter (which they just put on tap a month ago or so) and the Independence Pass IPA is extremely fine. Add to that their dedication to the environment with everything from Wind power to a BioDiesel delivery truck, and these guys really have what it takes.
We feel we’ve really found a diamond in the rough here, and think you will agree. If you’re headed out to Aspen to take in the hiking trails of summer or the ski slopes of winter, (or whatever’s in between), stop by and say hello to the guys. And while you’re at it, have a beer. Tell ‘em The Happy Hour Guys sent ya!
Cheers!
