My own version of Be My Lady by Jason Dy is finally here. I've got a lot of explaining to do. First, Jason Dy, the singer of this song (particularly of this version only and not the song itself, because he wasn't the original singer of it ) has a clear, deep voice unlike mine which is a bit high and rangy so our voices are really different from each other. The song is arranged in lower pitch as well so that it could suit Jason Dy's vocal style. With that, I had a hard time beautifying the song with my own range because it didn't really sound good like how Jason Dy's went. It ended up like I was pretending to have a deep low voice, when in fact my voice is a bit higher, so I didn't really like the outcome. As an alternative, I adjusted the pitch higher than the usual up to 5% increase of the tone and voila! It suited my voice. I think the result was good even though I made one flat at the late middle part of the song. But it's okay. I think I still pulled it through at the last part.
As you can read in the title, this is just a mock cover of the song because this isn't yet the real and final cover. Instead, you can call it as a formal practice. I thought that it sounds well so why not include it in my videos list? The final version hasn't come out yet BUT I wanted to try how it is to sing this song while holding that rose and doing those emotions in front of the camera. It's not bad though. And I think it is still worth sharing.
I will be uploading the final version of this song cover in a few days time and expect to see a little bit of change on this video. You will see me changing into a more formal attire and the pink rose will be changed into a real red rose. But for now, please enjoy and listen well to my vocal range. I am proud of my cover.
