Estate 2012. Le due registe, attraverso un film on the road, ci raccontano com’è cambiata la Puglia, loro terra d’origine e tema centrale dei documentari realizzati da Cecilia Mangini negli anni ‘60. La stessa estate un giudice ammette che Taranto è una città in ostaggio dell’inquinamento prodotto dall’acciaieria ILVA e ordina l’arresto del proprietario, Emilio Riva. Come guardare all’industria che riscatta una terra, che la traina fuori dalla sua dimensione arcaica, ma ponendola in un presente crudele e contraddittorio?
