How we got away with it - Submission to ÉCU 2013
DESCRIPTION
HENRY, scruffy and haggard, is released from jail only to discover his beloved sister, SARAH, has hung herself in the family home. On the shore of Lake Ontario in Rochester, NY, sits the stately house, which has held horrible secrets for decades. Henry decides comeuppance has arrived and plots to take revenge on his abusive father, WALTER. But today is also the day his friends arrive for their annual summer reunion…and he chooses this weekend to execute his plan. Henry enlists his oldest friend, WILL, in the plot. The rest of the group; ANNE- Henry’s long-distance girlfriend, DALLAS- his pal from college, LEIGH- Will’s lady with a secret of her own, RONNIE, a childhood friend with addiction issues, and ELIZABETH, a newbie to the gang, are oblivious to Sarah’s death and Henry’s impulsive scheme. Henry presses forward, believing his rash idea will work. But unbeknownst to him, his late sister had contacted a local cop, BECKER, who now believes that something is terribly wrong and is determined to find Sarah. And he has the skills and knowledge to do it. Over the course of the weekend, as his friends party and Henry single-mindedly pursues deliverance, he sets in motion a series of events that will culminate in murderous violence that sweeps up the guilty and innocent alike, threatening to destroy them all.
