Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs Review
DESCRIPTION
Manny the Mammoth Guy voiced by Ray Romano is back...along with his sweetheart Ellie voiced by Queen Latifah...
They're expecting their first baby so their friends take a back seat...Diego the sabre tooth tiger voiced by Dennis Leary now feels he doesn't belong with the pack...while Sid the sloth voiced by John Leguizamo hears the call of parenthood as well...he steals three dinosaur eggs hoping to hatch them on his own...
Of course...the mommy dinosaur emerges...angry...she wants her babies back...
This event leads our pals underground...way, way down...as they journey to the land of the dinosaurs...
Stealing the show is Buck...voiced by Simon Pegg...he's a dinosaur hunter who's out to help Manny and friends find Sid...
I thought ice age the franchise is already extinct...so my expectations were low...but guess what? Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs actually won me over...
In this day and age of sophisticated Pixar animation...it's almost a miracle to enjoy an animated film not made by the Disney-Pixar folks. Shot in 3-D by Blue Sky studios...the animation company behind Ice Age captures the film's whimsical nature...
The true star of the franchise...Scrat is still in search of that elusive acorn...but this time...the lovable rat and squirrel hybrid meets his match...
The film comes alive when the characters visit the land of the dinosaurs...the bright palette of the lush tropical setting is a sight to behold...
There are many funny scenes in the film but there are some stale jokes as well...do we really need another talk to the trunk moment? um...no...
But Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs is all about the true nature of family...so it's a fitting film to show your family this Fourth of July weekend...
And for that...Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs gets 3 Ice Age kisses...
So there you have it movie buffs...I enjoyed Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs...I'm Manny the Movie Guy...have a safe and HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY weekend!!!
