Leigh Jaynes: National Champion Womens Freestyle Wrestling
& Olympic hopeful 2012.
Leigh grew up in south Jersey. Attending Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mt. Holly. She found wrestling as a senior, wrestling for Coach Brian Bowker. Wrestling, for her, was a way to relieve the pain of a broken home and troubled childhood.
After placing All-American, she was recruited by Missouri Valley College. There she wrestled for four years, rising through the ranks to be the number one contender amongst contenders in her weight class on the college level, obtained her Masters in Management, and swore in as an officer in the US Army Reserve.
Now, Leigh Jaynes, is training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO, has currently served seven years in the Army, and continues to thrive athletically, spiritually, and professionally. Follow her on this amazing journey, as she competes for a spot on the 2012 Olympic Freestyle Wrestling Team.
