DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the films of Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut, Irrelevance is set sometime in the bohemian world captured shot on grainy super 8.
Bridget is in love with her boyfriend until in a moment of absent passion, he mentions her friend. She’d always had a romantic vision of their first glance across the café but she suddenly realise he was actually looking at her friend Dominique. The change of the start of their love story, changes her vision of their romance.
They get dressed and go to a party full of the Boheme, and while the boyfriend discusses ‘neo realism’ she suddenly sees his pretentious. She wonders the party alone
watching from the side all kinds of weird and wonderful characters, and encountering the ever attention seeking Dominique. She realizes she is not part of this, she’s just an accessory to her boyfriend.
By the time her boyfriend has found her, her vision of him and his world is different. She leaves alone.
