DESCRIPTION

Mali revolves around the life of Mali, a Sri-Lankan domestic worker, locked within the household of her Lebanese employer in Lebanon. The film depicts one afternoon, while Mali's employer, Mirna is away for a school meeting, Mali decides to escape. Thus, Mali endangers Roula, Mirna's 8 year-old daughter's life, for Mali forsakes Roula's life to run away. 'Mali' does not lock itself within the binary of the good and evil; however, it portrays the actions of each character according to their circumstances from a humane perspective.
