The last time I spoke with Melissa McCarthy was for her super-hit comedy “Bridesmaids.” Back then, she was laughing because I was bowing down on the would-be Oscar-nominated actress. And she deserves to be bowed down to. In her new movie “Tammy,” the funny actress was multi-tasking to the core co-writing the movie with her husband, Ben Falcone (who also directs), producing, and of course, acting as a woman-child who must grow up, pronto!

I enjoyed the character-driven comedy and I’ve been telling everyone that it will give you an explosion of laughter for 4th of July! In this interview, we talked about her interest in making “Tammy,” working with the iconic actresses Kathy Bates and Susan Sarandon, and what would be on her playlist if she takes a road trip.
