DESCRIPTION
In 1983, with the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) between the United States and the Soviet Union stalled, Pentagon defence strategists came up with the bright idea of hiding U.S. nuclear missiles in "secret" locations across the land, to be moved around in decoy 18-wheel tractor trailers rigs disguised as "ordinary trucks", thereby thwarting a greatly feared pre-emptive "first-strike" by Soviet SS-20 nuclear missiles.
Though the hair-brained concept was never put into action, it did give impetus to what has since become the one of the most legendary trucking songs since Dave Dudley's "Six Days on the Road," earning its Canadian composers, Singing Fools, a vaunted cubby-hole in the pantheon of country music...
