Over the years, Ruby's Old Time Bar and Grill in Coney Island, a just-past-Prohibition business on the Boardwalk, has endured challenge after challenge. Storms, an NYC that was close to defaulting, none of these came close to hurting this venerable stop for a cold brew on the boardwalk. But recently, Ruby's was given two weeks notice to vacate after sitting as a New York institution for over 80 years. An impromptu protest and funeral was held. We were there.
