Washington D.C. is known for being the capitol of the United States of America, the epicenter of American politics, etc. DC is also known for its beautiful cherry blossoms which come out in full bloom in April every year. The beautiful flowers are a rare treat for the eye and is certainly worth seeing. Thousands and thousands of people come from all over the world to see the cherry blossoms at its peak bloom date. You have to catch it quickly though, as cherry blossoms have ephemeral beauty.

As visitors flock to the tidal basin to see the mass of pinks, whites, and velvet, they can also enjoy the numerous festivities going on around the area. There is an annual Cherry Blossom Festival of grand proportions that is carefully planned to celebrate the rich history and culture surrounding the blossoms. There are Japanese Festivals to highlight the interesting Japanese culture that comes with the blossoms. There are parades with floats and celebrities. There is food to eaten, music to be enjoyed, and performances to be seen during the festival.
