DESCRIPTION

The Weeping Woman is inspired by the legend of La Llorona. Maria suffers a violent fate and finds herself at the gates of Heaven. However, she may not enter Heaven until she has found her children. This begins a journey through the Underworld (The House of Cold, The House of Jaguars, The House of Bats) and the World of the living to seek help from several mythological characters to find her beloved children.

The Weeping Woman is a shadow puppet film collaboration between Connie Toebe and Lisa Stock. Music by Neil Jendon. Connie used TTV photography technique to create the backgrounds - photographing all over the city of Chicago.
