Shine Global's first film, WAR/DANCE, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2007, the winner of 2 Emmys for Best Documentary and Best Cinematography, and has received over 20 otherfestival awards including the Best Director award at Sundance.

WAR/DANCE tells the stories of three children Dominic, Rose and Nancy who live in an internally displaced persons camp in the war zone of northern Uganda yet go on to compete in Uganda's national music and dance festival held in Kampala.
