Xcorps Bandit X Project - Robert Tucker part 2 - The Xcorps Sweet Rides shoot crew is at So Cal Paint Works covering the Bandit X Trans AM resto mod rebuild project. Xcorps host Scott Sommers talked with So Cal customer John Scalone about his 6 muscle cars and a race car currently at So Cal Paint being worked on. John talks about his 69 Camaro, 70 Cuda and 55 Bel air all being built to drive and not trailered. John is a firm believer that cars need to be driven and enjoyed not just something pretty to look at after all thats not what they were built for.
Master car restorer Robert Tucker from So Cal Paint Works talks about the restoration of John Scalones 1970 Cuda and what it really takes to bring a rusty metal car body back to life the right way in a classic vehicle!
Xcorps TV found a great restorations shop in Santee California to base the Bandit X restoration project. So Cal Paint Works has stepped up to take on the project and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We went down for their customer appreciation day and saw some of the cars that they had done and we were hooked. They stripped the car completely down to bare metal and started from scratch. Gregg Scott will be doing the 455 for the Phoenix Project.
He has a long history in drag racing and builds engines for some of the top racers at Barona Drag Strip. He builds high horsepower engines that are street driver friendly.
Our friend Dave over at Pro Touring F-body is supplying us with the suspension parts that we need for our Phoenix project aka Bandit X. We are up grading to solid sub frame bushings, tubular upper and lower control arms, sub frame connectors, new coil springs, rear leaf springs along with his adjustable shocks. All this is going to make the car handle way better than it ever did. Well be out tearing up the auto cross like it was a Sunday drive in the country.
