Bahrain Film Production was launched in 2006 by a group of Bahraini businessmen with a sole purpose of raising the Bahrain cinematography levels to the international level.
Our immediate objective is to provide a refuge to local actors and production technicians enabling them to become financially independent and to create for them a base where their talents can be enhanced.
Our second objective is to deal with pertinent social issues and take advantage of the democratic society we live in.
Our third objective is to put Bahrain proudly on the international Film arena, allowing us to participate in international film festivals around the globe.
The company is mainly supported by the government and the private sector to create a cinema industry in Bahrain. Bahrain Film Production has already produced two feature films, "A Bahrain Tale" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0879222/ in 2006 that cost one million dollars and "Four Girls" in 2007 that cost around 500,000 dollars. The company is also planning to produce a new feature film that will cost around 13 million dollars and which will feature actors from around the world and will be realized according to the very high standards. The working title of this new movie is "The Advisor."

The company has also produced many short films, documentaries and commercials for renowned companies in the gulf region.
In the near future, Bahrain film production will be supporting Dubai Film Connection by presenting a 10,000$ prize as development award to one of 15 projects selected by DFC.
Dubai Film Connection is a co-production market, launched in 2007 by Dubai Film Festival, that focuses on bridging cultures by bringing international and Arab film professionals together to collaborate on the realization of 15 selected projects. The DFC will take place this year during the 2008 edition of Dubai Film Festival.
The objective from supporting DFC is to help DIFF in its ongoing commitment to raising the visibility of Arab filmmakers and stimulating the growth of film production emanating from the Arab World.
The company is also still helping Bahraini filmmakers to enhance their talents by supporting them financially to produce new short movies that will be sent to participate in the Gulf Film Festival in Dubai.
