Transformed from a b-girl to an MC on one of the largest hip-hop labels in Russia in 2004, recording a handful of singles as both a rapper and singer, and also winning a few festival contests. Hip-hop quickly became my religion and the love of my life.
Some of my biggest musicial inspirations are Lauryn Hill, Etta James, Erykah Badu, Billie Holiday, Bahamadia, Janis Joplin, Portishead, and Led Zeppelin.
I came to New York in December 2009 and soon wrote my first songs in English. Afterwards I started performing at various open mic events, and worked as a lounge singer. My first American single, "Keeping Me High", was released in the Fall of 2010, with an accompanying music video produced and distributed in the fall of 2011. In September 2011, Jerrra Blues acquired a full backing band of talented musicians and friends and is now working on her first full length album.
