“The Family” is an Italian Milano based commercials production company with a new established Feature Film Department, The Family Film.
The company was founded in Milan on March 2002 by a group of professionals who are also long-standing friends: three Executive Producers recognized by the Italian advertising market (Lorenzo Cefis, Stefano Quaglia, Lorenzo Ulivieri), one of the best known and worldwide well established Italian director in commercials (Federico Brugia), supported by Mario De Benedetti’s solid and proven financial strategy.
Just established, “The Family” has been immediately recognized as the main novelty in the Italian commercials’ production market. At the beginning of November 2002 it has been opened The Family @ Madrid, by a take-over of the majority of an existing and well considered Spanish production company (Gardoqui Gold).
Collaborating with the most famous advertising agencies (Mc Cann Erickson, JWT, BBDO, Leo Burnett, Young&Rubicam), around 160 national and international commercials were produced to date, for brands like: BMW, FIAT Auto, Renault, Bulgari, Daimler Chrisler, Kellogg’s, Henkel, Unilever, Nintendo, TIM, TELECOM, Wind, Albacom, Assicurazioni Generali, ENI, Radio DeeJay, Sangemini, Champion, Ferrero, Tamoil, Mondadori, Illy, Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso.
“The Family” achieved rapid growth during first two years, and soon it has begun a process of brand diversification in order to gain experience in different, complementary sectors, able to establish creative synergies. Thus in June 2003, two new divisions were opened: The Family Beat for music videos production and innovative and experimental projects, and The Family Film, for documentaries and feature film and TV projects development.
Furthermore new offices for commercials production were opened in Rome on June 2004, so as currently there are 38 professionals and 16 Italian and foreigner directors, with whom the company has contracts of exclusivity.
The Family Film, managed by Anna Giordano, is independent from the commercials section, but fully integrated and synergetic with the parent company. It takes advantage by full availability of the professional skills and experience of people working at “The Family”, using its brand awareness as the relationships and connections generated by its successful commercials production transferring those opportunities to Feature Film Department.
Coming from dynamic commercials production business, “The Family” intend to promote young and talented directors, also coming from advertising world. To sustain up-coming talents and to develop feature film projects is actually a major aim of The family Film. We focus on projects intended for European Market, strongly innovative on creative elements and on visual approach, and on international co-productions.
Having produced to date several awarded short films and having co-produced the feature film “Bambini” (with Pablo,Rome).
The Family Film is active developing the feature film “Cramp”, based on Italian writer Marco Lodoli novel (Einaudi), to be directed by Stefano Quaglia, one of the founders of the company, (in co-production with Dor Film, Vienna).
