DarlaCat Productions formed on January 22, 2011 and was founded by Darla Delayne and Cat Migliaccio, two actresses wanting better footage for their reel. They decided to take a step in creating and producing their own work to move their careers forward and help out their friends’ careers as well.
DarlaCat Productions recently celebrated their one-year anniversary finishing up three seasons of web series. Their first season of Morning Cup was launched February 18, 2011 on YouTube. It’s a sitcom based tale of two sisters meeting for coffee to catch up. Older sister, Patricia Jones-Smith, is an eager meteorologist wannabe always looking for a man and younger sister, Maggie Smith, is an engaged, free spirit whose job is always changing. Each week they meet for coffee and it’s a chance to get a peek into their lives and meet interesting characters along the way.
DarlaCat Productions produced and created their second project that consisted of two seasons of web series, Game Night: at Saddle Ranch Estates launched on YouTube June 3,2011. Meet the southern ladies of Saddle Ranch Estates at their monthly Bunco game night. Set up as a mockumentary, each episode has two different ladies (Darla and Cat each portray five different characters thru the course of the season) playing the game, cordially chatting about kids, husbands, beauty, church, home decorating, etc and of course having a cocktail. You then see what they really think in their personal interviews where back stabbing with a smile on your face ensues.
This year, DarlaCat Productions is launching a website and a SAG new media project and two SAG shorts that will appear online and in the festival circuit; that will lead into making their mark in independent feature film.
