Virak THUN est né dans un camp de réfugié en Thailande, après que ses parents aient fui le Cambodge et le régime des Khmers Rouges.
A 3 ans, il s'installe avec sa famille en région parisienne.
Après une license en cinéma à l'Université de Paris 8 en 2002, il réalise son premier court-métrage en 16mm pour "Paris la métisse", un projet des productions EKLA (2005).
Après ce premier succès, et grace a ses nouvelles connections, il décide de créer avec 3 amis le collectif RENOASH dans le but de s'engager dans le cinéma urbain.
Entierement libre de ses choix artistiques, il réalise 2 court métrage "The Bambkillaboolla" et "Le bon plan" en 2006.
Maintenant, il travaille sur son premier long métrage sur la culture urbaine.

English Version

Virak THUN was born in a refugges camp in Thaïland in 1976.
He grow up in FRANCE because his family has to run from Cambodia and the Red Khmers Regime.
After Mastering in cinema at Paris 8 University (2002), he directed his first short film, in 16mm, for the "Paris, la metise" projectwith EKLA production (2005).
After this encouraging first step, and thanks to all the connections he has made, he decided to create the RENOASH CREW. This was made to screen mainly an urban cinema.
Really free of mind, the Crew made two short movies "The Bambkillaboola" and "The perfect plan" in 2006.
Now, he's working on his first long movie about the urban culture
